Dog’s eyes

Surely that sometimes you have found photos with flash you have been whereupon the subject leaves with the red eyes. That is product of the reflection of the blood vessels of the interior of the ocular globe. But, if there was a dog in the photo, this appears with the blue eyes. Why?

Almost all the domestic animals have in the eye a layer called tapetum that serves to them to have a better vision than humans in the dark. This layer is the one that produces a bluish reflection to them in most of the cases.

But the color of that layer varies based on other variables like the color of the skin of the animal. Thus we found in the photos with flash dogs with green eyes, yellow and, even, red.
